John
Johnson, son of
John & Eleanor Johnson, was born about 1738. We
have a will for John Johnson and know a little bit about his
wife Catherine Power.
John
Johnson's Will is dated February 2, 1780 and in it he leaves the use of
the land and two negroes to his wife Catherine.
If she remarries then to brother Leonard to hold until son Thomas
becomes 21 when it is to be divided equally between Thomas and Benedict.
Catherine Power was born abt. 1740 and was the daughter of John
Sanders Power and Jane [Spalding] Power.
Her will was probated on April 17, 1789. We also have the
will of Catherine's father, John Powers,
which verifies Catherine as the wife of John Johnson.
