DAVID JOHNSON
With William
Johnson and Capt. Peter Johnson we have two Johnson families in
Maryland. With the addition of David Johnson and his descendants we
make that three families. The early beginning of this family are
somewhat vague as Ms. Cryer notes in her book "Some Johnsons of
Southern Maryland. She states:
David Johnson, immigrated 1666, of
Talbot Co., Md. David, Jr., son of David Johnson, transported
1666. Ann., wife of David Johnson, transported 1666. Albert
Johnson, immigrated 1666, of Talbot Co.
From the Index to Names of Immigrants from records of Land Patents,
1633-1680 in the Hall of Records, Annapolis Maryland.
Ms. Cryer believes, but has no proof, that this is the beginning of
the David Johnson family in St. Mary's County.
David Johnson, was born abt. 1735. His will was probated April 28,
1795. He married Berlinder ____. She was born abt. 1739 and died
between 1800 and 1810. David Johnson was a subscriber to the Oath of
Allegiance in 1778 in St. Mary's County. The oath was administered
by John Reeder. |
