Martha Lucinda "Lula" Johnson  was the daughter of  William Edward Johnson and Mary Eliza Raley Johnson.  She was born in March of 1870 and married William Baptist Cryer.  William Cryer was born on April 24, 1874 in New York, N.Y., and died on February 29, 1948 of heart disease at the home of his son "Teddy" Cryer in Forestville, Prince Georges County, Maryland. He is buried in St. Joseph RCC.  All but two of their children were born in Washington, D.C.  Martha Lucinda died of the flu on January 23, 1919.  She is buried in St. Joseph RCC.

The Cryer children are as follows:

Frank Cryer met with an interesting death.  He was run over by a beer wagon in about 1913. Marguerite died on January 21, 1919 of the flu.  Joseph Mitchell also died of flu on January 26, 1919.  This must have been the great World War I post war flu epidemic.  James Lowell also died young.  John "Spencer" also died fairly young in 1926 of measles and pneumonia in Providence Hospital, Washington D.C.  they are all buried in St. Joseph's RCC in Morganza, Maryland, except Frank who is buried in Washington, D.C.
