Joseph Enoch Evans, son of
E.R. Evans & Mary Priscilla Johnson,
was born January 12, 1852 in St. Mary's County. He died at his
home in Washington D.C. on July 27, 1931. He first married
Blanche Gertrude Stone, daughter of
Franklin Stone and Jane Carroll. She was born June 8, 1875 in
St. Mary's County.
Joseph left his father's farm and enlisted in
the Marines at Norfolk, VA. Among other duties he served on
the Battleship Galena.
