Mary Priscilla Johnson was born December 27, 1819.  She was the daughter of John & Sarah (Drury) Johnson.  She was baptized April 14, 1820 at Newtown Chapel.  She died June 10, 1873.  According to Ms. Cryer she married Enoch Richard Evans on January 26, 1842.  Children are not known.  Recently Janet Evans Standish, a descendant of Enoch Richard Evans, contacted me.  She includes this fascinating obituary for Enoch Richard Evans:

June 13, 1907 Beacon Death notice

Enoch Richard Evans died at his home in Patuxent district, June 8, 1907 aged 84 years.  Capt. Dick, as he as affectionately known, was magistrate for many years and his decisions were uniformly guided by a keen sense of justice and by fine judgment.  He was one of the most punctual business men in the county.  In his younger days he was a noted hand-ball player and participated in many an exciting game at the old alley at Tubman's Store.  Capt. Evans had been in failing health for sometime, but the announcement of his death was a great shock to friends outside his immediate neighborhood.  We hope and trust he is happy in the better land.

He was buried in St. Andrews RCC Cemtery.  Ms. Cryer in her book "Deaths and Burials in St. Mary's County" has this citation for Enoch Richard Evans:

E.R. Evans, b. Mar. 1, 1823 d. Jun. 8, 1907, hus of Mary L. ____, d. Jul. 27, 1896, aged 55 yrs.

Apparently E. R. Evans married three times, and all to Marys.

Many thanks to Janet Evans Standish for her information on Enoch Richard Evans.  All information on the Evans descendants is from Janet Evans Standish.
