According to Ms. Cryer, Mary, daughter of
Capt. Peter Johnson & Ann _____ , did not
come to America with Peter Johnson and Ann. She married a
Roger Baker who was an English sea captain. They had a
daughter, Mary Baker, probably the "Ward in Chancery," who
married Thomas Johnson, a young English lawyer. They came to
America in 1690 and resided at "The Brewhouse/" Thomas Johnson
was a Protestant and a strong supporter of the Stuart Kings.
Thomas Johnson's family was from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England.
Thomas and Mary Baker Johnson left one son, Thomas Johnson II, born
in 1701, as the sole surviving member of that family.
