Francis Desales Johnson, Sr. was born on August 11, 1893 in Trent Hall, Maryland. He was
the son of
John Alexander & Mary (Hayes) Johnson. On
December 26, 1916 he married Lucy Edwina Mattingly in Chaptico, Maryland.
Lucy was born on April 20, 1897 in Leonardtown, Maryland. Her
parents were James Thomas Mattingly and
Medora Josephine Guy Mattingly.
During his
lifetime Francis worked for the railroad and as a farmer. Francis died on
October 6, 1939 in Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. Francis is
buried in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Cemetery in Morganza, MD. Lucy died on
June 1, 1983 in Hyattsville, Maryland.
