Amaldus Matt
Richelman, son of
Charles Richelman Elizabeth ______ Richelman, was born
on May 7, 1855
in Hay Creek, Minnesota. He married Ida
Langhans who was born April 24, 1862
in Oranienburg, Germany. Amaldus died in 1914 of "dropsy and
leakage of the heart" at age 56 years, 4 mos., 10 days. Ida
lived much longer and didn't died until
February of 1957. Amaldus and Ida were married on June 14,
1881 and he was a farmer. My wife Jill Johnson remembers Ida
who was so small she could fit under Marvin Rigelman's outstretch
arm. Apparently she spoke German and may never have learned
English. She died of a stroke in Red Wing, Minnesota.
Amaldus and Ida were both of the Lutheran faith.
Amaldus and Ida are buried together in the
Trenton Township Cemetery just over the Mississippi River from Red Wing,
Minnesota. Also buried in Trenton Cemetery is
Ferdinand G. Richelman (b. Jun. 7, 1866 d. Apr. 29, 1920) and his wife Altha A. Richelman
(b. Sep. 13, 1874 d. Dec. 8, 1948). Ferdinand was the brother
of Amaldus. Ferdinand had two sons Walter and Lloyd Richelman.
