George Snyder Freeburn, son of
Irvin Freeburn
and Sarah A. Eshelman, was born July 8, 1838 in Millerstown, Perry
County, Pennsylvania. He died on January 25, 1915 in
Duncannon, Perry County, Pennsylvania. He married Caroline
Enders (Anders/Anderson) on October 18, 1860 in Perry County,
Pennsylvania. She was born on June 7, 1837 and died on April 16,
1894. Her parents are ___ Enders/Anders & Catherine Barrick
Ender/Anders. He and his wife are buried in the Evergreen
Methodist Cemetery in Duncannon, PA. Buried there along with
him and Caroline is their daughter Margaret M. Freeburn.
A lot of confusion exists about the children
of G.S. & Caroline Freeburn. Some sources list a
Soamie Mame Freeburn, born about 1871,
but I am convinced that this is my great grandmother,
Loamie M. Freeburn. These same
sources list a Margaret B. Freeburn (b. Jun 2, 1869, d. Feb. 9,
1939), but the tombstone in Everygreen Methodist Cemetery lists
Margaret M. Freeburn. Beyond that it appears to have the date
transposed. It list her as born October 26, 1886 (68?) and
died Aug. 20, 1869 at "1 Yr 9 Mos 26 Days." This remains a work in progress.
