My
name is William R. Johnson. I am a Compensation Judge with the State of Minnesota, Office
of Administrative Hearings. My
many passions include Aviation, specifically aviation history, and now
genealogy. I am currently
working on a database of USAAF/USAF aircraft starting with Signal Corps
#1. Obviously one of my other passion is computers and I used
Front Page 2002 by Microsoft to put up this website.
I grew up in the Timonium area of Maryland. We lived briefly in
Rome, New York and then returned to Bel Air, Maryland where I graduated
from High School. I attended Hamline University for my B.A. degree and
Southern Illinois University for my M.A. My J.D. degree is from
Hamline University School of Law. I
live in Plymouth, Minnesota along with my wife Jill of 30+ years and my
cat Max.
Each year I attend
Oshkosh and am an avid aviation photographer. This year the theme was "Aviation
Firsts." Each year I attend Oshkosh with my friend Bill
Waterman and we tent out by the Piper Saratoga we fly over to Oshkosh.
This year it was pretty hot. One of the highlights of the show as a fly in by a replica
Vickers Vimy WW I bomber. The Vickers Vimy was used by Alcock and
Brown to be the first aircraft to fly the Atlantic Ocean (yes before
Lindberg).
My interest in aviation comes from the fact that
my Dad served with honor in the 446th BG (H) during World War II.
