Joseph Spencer
Johnson, Jr. was the son of
Joseph Spencer,
Sr. & Susan Claire Thompson Johnson. He was born August 31, 1948
and died January 10, 1990. He married Janice Elaine
Taylor, the daughter
of James A. and Dee Taylor of California, Md. She was born on July
10, 1950 in Oak Harbor, Washington. Joseph is
buried in St. Joseph's RCC Cemetery.
His tombstone lists service with the
United States Army in Vietnam. According to Ms. Cryer he died of
cancer thought to have been caused by exposure to Agent Orange in Viet Nam.
He was a member of the Mechanicsville Optimist Club and was in the first
graduating class of Chapticon High School. Pallbears were Jimmy Johnson,
Billy Johnson, Gary Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, Francis Wathen and Billy Norris.
