Catherine Emma "Katie" Johnson was born in
St. Mary's County in August of 1870. She was the daughter of
Joseph Stephen & Eliza Mattingly Johnson.
She married James Aloysius "Allen" Hayden. She died sometime after 1910.
Ms. Hammett in
her book
"History of St. Mary's
County Maryland" has an interesting picture at p. 399. It shows
the School at St. Mary's City c. 1915 and the teacher pictured is listed
as "Miss Katie Johnson." (see left)
John Donald Hayden married a
Catherine Rosalie Knott who was born in
1910. Their children were John Donald Hayden,
Jr., born 1937, and Mary Rose Hayden.
